The warm south kicks off the start of our 2006 racing season. This year is Kyle's first year racing ProSport- the next level up from amateur. With a brand new race bike, a new class, new rules, new format, we decided to focus all of our efforts on Pro Sport for the southern races. Not to leave our younger boys out, Cody is still mending a broken leg from skiing, so he served as pit crew. Travis was able to get some practice laps in with the pros which really fired him up for the season! With only one rider and one class, we were still thrashing in the pits! The "brake demons" were with us all weekend on our new 450 framer. We tried everything we could possibly think of with help from others, but the brake problems got the best of us! And on Saturday evening in the final at Volusia Speedway, Kyle cracked open his shield to clear the fog and one of his contacs blew out! Overall, we were fairly pleased with our results- out of 30 riders, only 8 made all three mains, (including Kyle) and Kyle is currently 6th place in points in Pro Sport. Not bad for no brakes and one eye!! Next Pro Sport race will be June 3rd in Dayton, Ohio and then on to Peoria, Illinois for the TT. Local racing- Paradise Speedway in Geneva opens April 29th and Medina Scrambles opening date is June 11th. Call Harv's HD for more info. Hope to see you at the races!! Special Thanks to our local sponsors- Long Pond Auto Body and Super Seal Sealcoating!
